If you are going to a baby shower or just want to buy a gift for a newborn baby then baby blankets are always a great choice. I have many friends that are either pregnant right now or have just had a baby and buying a baby blanket for them is always appreciated. There are so many different types of blankets that you can buy. You can get blankets in all different types of qualities as well. Obviously the better the quality of the blankets the more you will have to spend. I love shopping for personalized baby blankets because I like to put my own personal touch on all of the ones that I buy. I personalize them with the baby’s name written on the blankets. I think that this is adorable and from the feedback that I have been getting it appears that my friends do too.
A baby blanket is something that is used so often and having a personalized touch adds to the fun. I buy the baby blankets from a friend of mine that has her own business. She decorates the blankets and puts the first and last name on the top of the blanket. Buying plain blankets is okay but if I am giving a gift for someone then I want it to look special. My friend will ask me if the baby was a boy or a girl, the name of the baby, and will ask me for any personal touches that I would like to add. Like for example last year when one of my friends had a boy she was telling me that while she was pregnant the family dog was always cuddling up to her stomach. She often joked that Jacob (the unborn child) and the dog were best friends and that the dog couldn’t wait for Jacob to be born so that they could play. So for Jacob I had my friend personalize a crochet baby blanket with a picture of a Labrador retriever (that is Jacob’s dog). When I picked up the blankets from my friends house I almost cried they were so beautiful.
So if you are going to give a gift then a baby blanket is always needed. But if you want to give a gift that will last forever in memories then get personalized blankets. My friends are always excited to get theirs and I love giving them they are so much fun.
Baby blankets can make a great gift but personalized baby blankets are so much better. Your friends will love them and it they can be personalized any way that you choose.

I have always dreamed of starting my own business and I actually finally did it by making kids birthday invitations. I am a stay at home mom and I was looking for a way that I could get some extra money coming into the household. I look after my two kids as well so I wouldn’t be able to leave the house in order to make an income; being able to run a business at home was the only way that I would be able to do this.
The idea actually came to me one day. In an effort to save some money I was making kids birthday party invitations for my son Liam. He told me what he wanted and we went out shopping together to pick up the supplies, and me and the boys (Liam and Johnny), used our imaginations and actually created some pretty cool invitations. When Liam handed them out to his friends he was telling me that they thought that they were really “neat”, and some even asked if he could make them some when their birthdays arrived. He told them yes without even asking me (kids eh?), but it gave me the idea to make it into a business.
The great thing about kids birthday invitations is that it is a year round thing. You don’t have to worry about certain seasons being quiet; everyone will have a birthday every day of the year. After Liam and I made some invitations for his friends I called up the kid’s mothers and asked if it would be okay if I used them as a reference. They all gave me the go ahead and I posted my services in Craigslist the following day.
That was a few months ago and now I am making a pretty good income doing this. Sure, parents can buy kids birthday invitations for a cheap price at their local store but the way that I make them adds “personality” to an invitation. The kids love to hand out their kids birthday invites because they are all personalized and they get to pick out their own themes. It has been a pretty successful, fun business and it actually gives Liam and Johnny something to do when they are bored, (no it is not child labour, LOL). If you are ever tinkering around with an idea for your own business then you should try kids birthday invitations.
Making kids birthday invitations can be a great business that you can do from home. You can get clients pretty quickly by offering to do some kids birthday party invitations for free for your kid’s school friends, and pretty soon clients will be knocking at your door. Remember, a single kids birthday invitation may be enough to get you a lot of business!
